Looking for Something in Saigon?

As many places it’s easier to find out where to buy things by word of mouth. It couldn’t be more so true as in Saigon (AKA Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam) where locals love to chat about where they buy things and for how much. Mac Qua! .."that’s too expensive!”

While this information is for the most part limited to my experiences, I thought I’d share it anyway. Sorry, some of the places I can only recall the street so feel free to chime in. Mind you, some places you find things are on streets where there are several of the same types of stores right next to each other.

Map

While Google maps is very good, I also found this map really useful since you can type in street names (even without accents) and it will search for you, plus move the map around from any location.

Cost

"Bao nhiêu tiền?" literally means how much money.. or how much? While prices may change, this website gives a really good idea about what things should cost in Saigon.

Hi Juan,

Thanks for your comment. When will you be in HCMC?

While I know shops that sell motorbikes with paperwork for foreigners, I don't know about importing motorbikes. You might want to post a comment on a couple of websites:

LivingInVietnam.Com
Facebook.com (Vietnam > Marketplace)
